William Edward Tobin

William Edward Tobin, age 90 of Trenton, passed away July 22, 2015. William was born on March 29, 1925 in River Rouge, Michigan. He proudly entered the United States Navy right after he graduated high school. William served in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service during WWII from 1943-1946 on both the USS-Charr and the USS-Blower. He has been a member of the U.S. Submarine Veterans Association for over 20 years. William married the love of his life, Maxine, in the same city where he was born in 1943, before he entered the service. They were married for 57 years before Maxine preceded him in death. Their marriage was blessed with three wonderful children, Edward, Colleen, and Sean. Later in life, William was very proud to become a grandfather and a great-grandfather. William will be missed dearly by his family and friends. William is survived by his children, Edward (Kathy) Tobin, Colleen (David) Carroll, and Sean (Cheryl) Tobin. Grandchildren Shane (Alexis) Carroll, Nicole (William) Daly, and Erin Tobin. And great-grandchildren, Braden, Kinley, and Ryan Daly, and Ryder and Beck Carroll. He is also survived by other loving family and friends. Sadly, William was preceded in death by his beloved wife Maxine and his brother Max Tobin. A memorial service with military honors will be held at Michigan Memorial Park, 32163 W. Huron River Dr. on Saturday, August 1st, at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of William to the U.S. Submarine Veterans Charitable Foundation, Inc. are appreciated.
