William "Bill" Absalom

Born in Detroit, Bill was the son of Harry and Mae (McGrath) Absalom. He faithfully served his country with the United States Navy from July 1942 until January 1946. Bill married the love of his life, Irene H. LaMara, August 3, 1940. Sadly she preceded him in death February of 1976. Bill worked for over 15 years at Monahan Bronze in Flat Rock. He then worked at Ford Motor Company for over 12years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Monroe Eagles, Monroe Moose Lodge and Monroe Cloud Busters Model Airplane Club. He also was an avid golfer. Bill leaves to cherish his memory his children: William (Kathy) Absalom II of Northville and Cheryl (Michael) Vowell of Port Charlotte, Florida; 7 grandchildren : Alyssa Absalom, Afton Absalom, Ryan Arnold, Michael Arnold, Jakki Lynn Absalom, Kim Buckner and Kerry Manning; 3great grandchildren: Brandon, Amanda and Justin; as well as a daughter-in-law Kay Absalom of Monroe. In addition to his wife and parents, Bill was preceded in death by a son John "Jack" Absalom and a brother Lewis Absalom.
