Vincente "Vinnie" Amaya

Born in Saline, Vincente was the son of Eluterio Falcon and Maria Olivia (Valadez) Amaya. He attended Mason Consolidated Schools and played various sports, being given the nickname of " The Bumblebee". Vincente very much enjoyed spending time with his family, having bonfires and cookouts. People were amused by the stories that he told, most of which started out "many, many moons ago", and ended with a joke. Vincente was known for his unique laugh the warmed the hearts of others. He enjoyed listening to Mexican music, watching western movies and playing euchre. Vincente leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter Rose Elba Amaya of Monroe; siblings: Maria (Robert) Saul of Mesick, Lidia (Eduardo) Perez of Harvey, Louisiana, Eluterio Amaya Jr. of Athens, Georgia, Clemente Amaya of Mesick, Octavia Amaya of Toledo, Ismaiel Amaya of Monroe, Gilberto Amaya of Monroe, Barbara Amaya of Toledo and Alberto Hernandez of Omaha, Nebraska; as well as many nieces and nephews. Sadly he was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Rosa Amaya and a brother Andrew Amaya. Memorial contributions in honor of Vincente may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
