Vincent F. Vancena

Born in Toledo, Vincent was the son of Frank & Louise (Krull) Vancena. He married Betty Kilpatrick in August of 1946. Sadly she preceded him in death in 1959. A World War II Veteran of the Navy, Vincent served from November 11, 1942 until January 14, 1946. While with the Navy he was stationed on the USS Windsor, USS Pittsburgh and USS Nantahala. Vincent worked at Monroe Auto Equipment for over 20 years. He then worked for Jones Transfer for over 25 years before retiring in 1988. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, the Monroe Boat Club and Frenchtown Senior Citizens. Vincent leaves to cherish his memory, Ruby Root, his longtime partner and caregiver, with whom he made his home; and a sister Josephine Clark of Monroe. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Frank Vancena, Louis Vancena, William Vancena; and a sister Angeline Bosio.
