Vicki Lynn Kowalski

Vicki Lynn Kowalski, age 61 of Oxford, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, February 3, 2018 under the care of her loving family and McLaren Hospice. Born March 8, 1956 at Moody Air Base in Valdosta, GA, Vicki was the daughter of John and Gloria (Sahr) Hawkins. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her parents. A 1974 graduate of Whitmer High School in Toledo, Vicki worked at the Jeep Toledo Parkway Plant for over 20 years until she had her children. She married the love of her life, Charles "Chuck" Kowalski, on August 19, 1987. Vicki's greatest accomplishment in life was being a mom to her two children, Chelsea and Charlie. From the time they were born, she dedicated every moment of her life to raising them and filling their lives with unconditional love. She always made being a mom, as trying and difficult as it could be at times, look easy. According to her children, they were blessed with the best mother a person could wish for. She was compassionate and genuine to a fault - the kind of person who thought of everyone else before herself. Her home was filled with warmth and empathy for those lucky enough to share a cup of coffee with her. Vicki had many hobbies and talents, and she very much enjoyed the outdoors: camping, fishing, shooting sports, and watching the local wildlife. The family enjoyed Jeep Jamborees with their vintage CJ-5 they built together. She was independent and strong, never the kind to be afraid of getting her hands dirty. Vicki leaves us to cherish her memory, Chuck, her husband of the past 30 years; children: Chelsea Kowalski (31) of Oxford and Charles "Charlie" Kowalski (29) of Fort Mill, SC; as well as her siblings: her twin sister Sharyll Beavers of Temperance, Robbi (Roger) Langnes of Oxford, Brad (Laurie) Wade of Dundee, Thea (Ray) Vandercook of Monroe, Dwight Wade of Monroe, and many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all those who loved her. The world will never experience a loss as great as this. In accordance with Vicki's wishes, cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Allore Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes. A memorial to celebrate her life and the love she gave so freely to all those around her will be held at a later date.
