Schafer, Vernagene J. Age 90; of Southgate. Passed away surrounded by family June 26, 2018. Beloved wife of 60 years to the late Clarence "Ken". Loving mother of Robert and Lori (Tony) McAdam. Proud Grandma of Melissa. Dearest sister of the late Una (the late Emory) Mulholland, the late Clyde (Clema) Kruger, Irene (the late LeRoy) Jedele, the late Norman Kruger and the late Roy (Shirley) Kruger. Preceded in death by her parents Charles and Loretta (nee: Block) Kruger. Vernagene retired from Security Bank, was an active member of St. Paul United Church of Chirst and was active with the Schafer High School Band. Funeral service was on Saturday June 30, 2018 at St. Paul United Church of Christ. Interment Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ.
