Thomas "Tom" A. Krzyston, 76 of Monroe, passed away Sunday April 2, 2017 in his home. Born July 30, 1940 in Monroe, Michigan to Joseph A. and Ann Marie (Vadun) Krzyston. Tom worked in labor relations for Ford Motor Company, was the former commissioner at the port of Monroe, and also served 2 terms on city council. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monroe and enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family. Tom leaves to cherish his memory a brother Joseph Krzyston of Monroe, 2 nephews; Jason (Chelsey) Krzyston of Monroe and Nick Krzyston of Monroe, 2 nieces; Emily Krzyston of Monroe and Stacy Krzyston of Florida, 2 great nieces; Brooklyn Colpaert and Briella Colpaert and 1 great nephew; Jack Krzyston all of Monroe. Tom was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Ann Marie Krzyston. Friends may call Tuesday 4-8pm and Wednesday 3-8pm at The Allore Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 203 E. Elm Ave., Monroe. There will be a Rosary Wednesday at 6pm at the funeral home. Tom will lie in state Thursday from 9am until 10am funeral mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monroe. Father Jim Smalarz will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
