Thomas Richard Moore, age 75 of Carleton, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022.
Born March 17, 1947 in Monroe, Tom was the son of Lawrence “Red” and June (Millard) Moore. A graduate of Ida High School, he faithfully served our country in the United States Army. Tom married the love of his life, Helen “Sue” Jewell, on October 19, 1968. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, Tom went to work with his father at Monroe Collision, where he later became a co-owner with two of his brothers. Tom officially retired from Monroe Collision in 2019. He was a member of the American Legion Post 162 in Luzerne, Michigan. Tom loved being up north at his cabin in the woods riding the trails, hunting, and tinkering in his garage, but his most treasured times were those spent with his family.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister Cathy (Earl) Navarre, and brother Larry. He leaves his daughters to cherish his memory: Rebecca (Eric) Wiklendt and Heather (Nicholas) Burkhart; four grandchildren: Keeley and Quinn Wiklendt, Allie and Fiona Burkhart; and brothers Ed (Tami), Terry, Dan (Amanda), and sister Mary (Pat) Wickenheiser.
In accordance with Tom’s wishes, a private service was held for immediate family and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
