Thomas B. Kolakowski, Jr.

Thomas Barney Kolakowski Jr (80), passed away peacefully on February 23, 2024.  He leaves behind his wife Maria, 3 children:  Kelly (Kevin Wright), Thomas (Alika), Nancy (Robert Wisler), 6 grandchildren:  Victoria (Devante Woods), Rachael, Gage, Jack, Luke and Austin, along with 2 great grandchildren:  Logan and Ja'Kai, Siblings:  Kenneth (Micheal) and Mary Margaret (George Lindenberg) and nieces and nephews.  Thomas is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Margaret Kolakowski, sister Nancy Fogarty and grandson Jakob Kolakowski.


Born January 23, 1944, to Margaret and Thomas Kolakowski Sr., Thomas grew up in Wyandotte, MI with his three siblings Nancy, Kenneth and Mary Margaret.


Thomas is a Veteran of the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam War.  Thomas began working at Firestone, and eventually retired from Chrysler.


Thomas enjoyed camping with his family and eventually carried his love of camping to his grandchildren.  He loved sitting around campfires and having funny conversations.


Thomas adored being a husband, parent, grandparent and great grandparent.  He has left many meaningful and happy memories for those who knew and loved him that will last their lifetimes.  His friends and family will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.


Thomas had a sense of humor and could find humor in the most mundane life circumstances.  Thomas' personality was contagious to everyone he met.  He could bring a smile to your face and laugh along at you and with you.  He had a great sense of humor, and he had many stories to tell of his adventurous life that will live on.
