Theresa J. Laboe

Born in Monroe, Theresa was the daughter of Anthony and Anna (Smith) Engel. She married the love of her life, Robert Laboe, November 7, 1953 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Sadly he preceded her in death January 19, 2009. A dedicated homemaker, Theresa had worked as a Telephone Operator for Michigan Bell, worked at Hall of Divine Child and as a Clerk for K-Mart here in Monroe, retiring in 1988. She was a faithful member of St. Anne Catholic Church and the Brest Bay Gun Club Ladies Auxiliary. Theresa enjoyed playing Bingo, going to Garage Sales and doing ceramics, but her most treasured times were those spent with her family, especially her many grandchildren. Theresa leaves to cherish her memory her children: Larry M. (Roberta Gibson) Laboe of Monroe, Steve Laboe of Monroe, Kathy Whitman of Monroe, Laurie Tremonti of Monroe and Linda Thomason of LaSalle; granchildren: Holly (Michael) Beach, Krista (Cory) Blanchard, Mark (Lindsay) Whitman, Matthew (Sondra) Tremonti, Michael (Megann) Tremonti, Melisa (Eric) Moss, JoAnna (Michael) Miller, Tara (Matthew) Lambert, Tricia Thomason, Larry R. Laboe, Steven (Jakaya) Laboe, John (Samantha) Thomason, Shawn Laboe, Sheri Laboe, Jacob Laboe, Kellse (Bryant) Boatman, Rachel Gibson, Jennifer (James) Chapman and Jeremy Gibson; 21 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; two sisters-in-law Marian (Tom) Howley of Lee Summit, Missouri and Joan (George) Stoner of Monroe; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son Bob Laboe, brothers: Joseph Engel, James Engel, Charles Engel, Daniel Engel, Walter Engel and Michael Engel; sisters Anna Pilette, Clara Cloum and Mary Engel; and two sons-in-law Mark Whitman and Bob Tremonti. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in honor of Theresa are asked to consider St. Anne Catholic Church.
