Thelma Moyers

Thelma Moyers, age 94 of Wilmington, Delaware, formerly of Monroe, passed away June 25, 2022. Born April 4, 1928 in Monroe, Thelma was the daughter of Martin and Margaret (Lockwood) Boedecker and was raised by William and Estelle Gearhart. A 1947 graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, she then attended Siena Heights College. Thelma married the love of her life, Claude Moyers Jr., on November 4, 1950 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Sadly he preceded her in death August 1, 2002. A dedicated homemaker, she was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church as well as being an active volunteer at Mercy-Memorial Hospital, but her most treasured times were those spent with her family. Thelma leaves to cherish her memory her children: William “Lee” Moyers and Kathleen (William) Ferrell; as well as 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 5 siblings: Beryl Boedecker, Mark Boedecker, Charles Boedecker, James Boedecker, Katherine Powell and a great granddaughter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Thelma’s life may be made to the American Cancer Society.
