Sylvie Alice Jacqueline Rice

Sylvie (Denechere) Rice was born in Paris, France and was the daughter of Roland and Antonia (Piponnier) Denechere. She immigrated to the United States in 1964 and was a longtime resident of Sterling Heights. A loving mother, Sylvie taught her children by example how to conduct themselves. She loved reading, both fiction and non-fiction, and amassed a collection of hundreds of books. Sylvie LOVED nature and animals of all kinds, especially cats and dogs, and was never without a cat (or five) throughout her life. She was even known to have named the neighborhood squirrels she fed. Sylvie was also an avid music lover of all kinds, but held a special affinity for the Beatles, Rolling Stones and David Bowie. Sylvie leaves to cherish her memory her children: Dean Rice and (Kelly) Jennifer Rice and grandchildren: Kyle Rice and Alex Rice. Sadly she was preceded in death by her parents and a son Scott Rice.
