Southgate, MI – Susanne Rejefski (Susi) passed away on May 19, 2021 at the age of 72. Born October 27, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan. Susi was preceded in death by her parents Catherine (Bunny) and Willard Rejefski. Susi is survived by her sister Cathy (& Mickey) Weckesser, and Brothers Bill (& Linda) and Bob. Loving Aunt of Lynne (& Mark) Cooke, Melissa (& James) Tiller, Nicholas (& Emily) Weckesser, Michael (& Courtney) Weckesser, Tom (& Wendy) Rejefski, Great Aunt to Clayton and Cameron Tiller, and Harper and Fitzgerald Weckesser, and Loving God Parent to Arnale Trotter and Noah O’Donnell. Susi was proud to be a Registered Nurse for over 30 years, getting her BA in Nursing and her MA in Psychology from Sienna Heights University in Adrian, Michigan. She finished her working career with Blue Cross Blue Shield, where as an Auditor, travelled to hospitals across the state. Susi was the first person contacted if any of her family and friends were sick. She was also active in her church, Our Lady of the Angels, where she was Director of the Folk Group, singing and playing music at masses. She received Pastoral Minister certification from Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit, MI. Susi began playing the guitar when she was in high school and continued throughout her life, including with the Folk Group. Another hobby was crocheting, and she was quite good, as many family and friend recipients will testify. Susi was a life-long and loyal Detroit Tigers fan win or lose, rarely missing a game on TV or radio. She has a whole roomful of Tigers memorabilia. Susi and Mom went to uncounted games together. Family and Friends may visit Sunday May 23, from 3:00 – 8:00 PM at the Martenson Funeral home (10915 Allen Rd, Allen Park, MI 48101). A Funeral Mass will be said Monday, May 24, at 11:00 AM, at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church at 6442 Pelham Rd, Taylor, MI 48180.
