Susan Tibbetts Tear

Susan Tibbetts Tear was born February 15, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio and died on March 7, 2024 at Optalis Health and Rehabilitation at the age of 83. Beloved mother to Ann (Robert) Allen, David (Katie) Tear Jr., Katie (Paul) Baird and Nathan (Michelle) Tear. Proud grandmother of Alison (Hector), Duggan, Anthony (Hannah), Riley, Connor, Abbie and Drew; great grandmother to her precious Eulalia and Hector. Dearest sister to Nancy (Michael) Skurja and John Tibbetts; as well as many loving family and friends. Sadly she was preceded in death by her parents James and Edith (nee Raschen) Tibbetts; husband David; and brother James Tibbetts; and sisters-in-law Elspeth and Betsey. Susan was an alumnus and avid fan of the University of Michigan. Visitation will be Sunday, March 17, 2024 from 2pm until 6pm at the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes- Trenton Chapel, 3200 West Rd. Funeral service will be Monday. Susan will lie in state from 10am until a Mass of Resurrection at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Woods Catholic Church in Woodhaven. Memorial contributions in honor of her life may be made to the International Essential Tremor Foundation.
