Steven Toigo

Steven Toigo, of Woodhaven, MI passed away on January 25, 2024. He was born in Lincoln Park, MI on June 20, 1959 to the late Stefano and Wanda Toigo. He is the beloved husband of Georgia Toigo of 39 years, loving father to Sarah Maria (BJ) Fite, and Matthew Steven (Brandi) Toigo, cherished grandpa to Barrett Fite, Brooks Fite, Reagan Faye Toigo, and Camden Matthew Toigo. He is survived by his brother Daniel (Marla) Toigo, and many cherished family members. Steve is preceded in death by his brother Larry Toigo.

He was raised in Lincoln Park. He loved his community. He served as a paperboy and as a supervisor at the Lincoln Park Parks and Rec. He was a proud athlete who excelled at many sports but had a passion for football in which he was Athlete of the Year for the class of ‘77, the captain of the ‘76 undefeated football team, the Great Lakes Eight League Most Valuable Player. After high school he reached the height of his football career where he played for the University of Kentucky. So much more could be said about Steven, but what he would want you to know is that he loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He loved his family and his church family, especially the men’s prayer group. He was dearly loved and will be dearly missed and because of God’s grace we will see him soon.

Steven will be instate at Inter-City Baptist Church, 4700 Allen Rd. Allen Park, MI 48101 on Monday January 29, 2024 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. The service will follow at 12:00 PM. Steven will be laid to rest on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Washington Township.
