Born May 5, 1989 Steven was the son of John and Sheryl (Pillarelli) Doty Sr. A 2007 graduate of Monroe High School he enjoyed working in Musicals and Drama Club Plays with director Sue Sacks. He also helped his parents with All Around Sounds DJ Music Service. Steven received many awards performing in Jazz, Concert and Marching Band. Steven received local notoriety when he helped lead the Gay Alliance Project with Oprah Winfrey at Monroe High School, "breaking down the barriers". Steven is survived by his parents Sheryl (John) Straub of Monroe and John (Patricia) Doty Sr. of Florida; siblings: Kelly Doty of Ohio, Johnny Doty Jr. of Missouri, Joshua Doty of Monroe, KariLynn Straub of Ohio and Nicholas Straub of Monroe; maternal great grandmother Dorothy Pillarelli and paternal grandmother Nancy Doty; his closest cousin Ashley Marcotte, they were like brother and sister; as well as several close aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is also survived by his significant other Ben Romero and Ben's two children: Jaylynn and Kaylee. They lovingly called Steven "Daddy Doty". Steven always made time for kids games and going to the park with Jaylynn, Kaylee and his little brother Nicholas. Sadly he was preceded in death by his grandfather Nicholas Pillarelli; grandmother Sharon Ann Pillarelli; grandfather Wayne Doty; and cousin Luke Pillarelli. Steven had the biggest heart and loved everyone. His sense of humor brightened everyone's life. He would be a listening ear and shoulder to cry on, even though he struggled many days of his life. He was loved by everyone, especially his little brother, that called Steven "Steco" when he was little, and it became his permanent nickname. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in honor of Steven are asked to consider his family to assist with funeral costs.
