Steven Horvath

Steven quietly and gently passed away in comfort on February 15, 2022 at Angela Hospice care center after loving good-byes from his wife, Arlene and children. Steven was born on October 16, 1932 in Warren, OH to the late Steve and Mary Horvath. The family moved to Michigan where he excelled as a student at Albion College, ultimately graduating from University of Detroit. He worked as a chemical engineer. Steve and Arlene raised 5 children together, most of that time as Grosse Ile residents. They endured losing a beloved son, Steven James in 1993. Steven enjoyed following the sports and activities of his grandchildren. He has welcomed 17 great grandchildren and was looking forward to more! He and Arlene enjoyed traveling together, winters in Florida and playing golf with their friends for many years. He always enjoyed the fact that he scored two holes in one on consecutive days! His quiet demeanor and keen, subtle sense of humor will be missed. In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by a sister, Joanne, brother, John and son, Steven James. He is survived by his wife, Arlene, sister Barbara (Louis) Mahalak, children Mary Beth (John) Gervasi, Kathleen Seabolt, Laura (Mike) Krupa, Michael (Sherri) Horvath, 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to Angela Hospice (Good Samaritan Care)
