Steve R. Harold

Steve R. Harold, of South Rockwood, passed away July 25, 2022. Loving husband of Willene Harold. Beloved father of Steven J. Harold, Kelly Harold-Yilmaz and Brent Leftwich. Proud papa of Amara Yilmaz, Emily Beaudrie and Ilara Yilmaz. Dear brother of Dennis (Diana) Harold and Art (Jan) Harold. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Forest and Ruth Harold, and his siblings Hubert Harold, Larry Harold and Alice Crispino. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Steve graduated from Airport High School in 1972, where he was an incredible football star, breaking several state records. He worked as a conductor on the railroad from 1972-2010 before retiring with 36 years on duty. He was a passionate fisherman, and he loved to camp wherever he could park his RV, especially in northern Michigan. He was an avid University of Michigan fan. An ardent animal lover, he will be dearly missed by his beloved dogs Tucker and Doodle. He also enjoined tinkering and building things with his hands, and he took much pride in his garden. A memorial gathering will take place Saturday July 30, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at The Ford Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes. A memorial service will begin at 3:30pm. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Steve to the Monroe County Humane Society.
