Stella Marie Moccia

Stella Marie Moccia passed away Friday January 17th. She was 82 years old. Stella was preceded in death by her beloved husband Vitolino Moccia, and her brothers Jerry Sorranno and Frank Sorrano. Stella was the loving mother of Darrell (Darlene), Brian (Michel DeJulian), Kevin (Regina Gallagher), and Gary. She was the dear grandmother of Deanna, Derek( Erica), Daniel ( Elysia), Austin, Marino, Katherine (Spiro), and James Moccia. She also had two great –grandchildren whom she adored Nathan and Norah. Stella’s grandchildren were a great source of pride for her and she took great pleasure in their accomplishments and lives. Stella was born on August 27th, 1937. She was the daughter of Rosina Rossi and Pasquale Soranno. She was a homemaker who eventually became interested in retail and eventually attended business school; an accomplishment of which she was quite proud. She was a wonderful cook, baker, and Gardner. She loved swimming, playing cards and creating family memories at her dining room table which she took great care and creativity in preparing for her guests. Stella was very involved in the Bagnoli Italian Club of which she was president for several years, the Trenton Garden Club and as the years progressed she enjoyed participating in the senior citizens activities at the Westfield Center where she enjoyed many strong friendships. Stella was a member of St. Timothy’s Church in Trenton where she was a parishioner for 61 years. She loved attending Mass and worshiping with her family and friends. Stella will be remembered for her feisty personality, her love for all activities in life and her love for her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends who will keep her memory strong by the memories that she created. Contributions in memory of Stella's life may be made to the Trenton Garden Club.
