Stanley Kozlowski

Born in Bartoszyny, Poland in 1937, Stanisław “Stanley” was son of the late Józef and Katarzyna (Polak) Kozlowski. He married the love of his life, Wiesława “Wiesia” Szkutnik, on February 8, 1959. They immigrated to Rhode Island in 1964 with their two children. Before retiring in 2000, Stanley worked as a maintenance mechanic for over 20 years at Mossberg Steel. In Rhode Island, Stanley and Wiesia loved entertaining family and friends at their backyard pool, polka dancing, and spending time by the ocean. They moved to Rockwood, Michigan in 2002 and helped to raise their three grandchildren, to whom he is beloved “Dziadziu.” He received last rites on October 4th and died peacefully in his home on October 8th, 2019. Stanley will be lovingly remembered by Wiesia, his wife of 60 years; his children, Stanley (Anna) Kozlowski of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and Ann (Andrew) Porada of Rockwood; three grandchildren: Philip (Jenny) Porada, Kristie (Dwight) Greear and Kelsey (Paul Jentz) Porada; two sisters, Władyslawa Pietkiewicz and Jadwiga Borysiewicz; and many nieces, nephews, and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings. Stanley will lay in state for visitation from 10:00am until Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30am on Saturday, October 12th, 2019 at St. Mary Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 32477 Church Street, Rockwood MI 48173. Father Jim Rafferty will officiate. Procession will follow to Michigan Memorial Cemetery in Flat Rock, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elara Caring Hospice or St. Mary Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church.
