Sonta Lucia Williams, age 69 of Monroe passed away peacefully on October 30, 2023, surrounded by her family. Sonta was a loving mother of Mary (Richard) Falkenburg and Joel Williams Jr. Survived by her sisters Carolyn Pocs, Patrica (Robert) Pocs, Dorothy (Michael) Braden, Mary Maniaci, Marie (Joe) Reinhart, and brother Peter (Carolyn) Patterfritz; Grandchildren Aaron Wright, Scott Wright, Kaylee Williams, and Aidan Blevins; Great grandchildren Mason Wright and Dellavine Blevins. Was preceded in death by her parents Patsy and Annabelle (Taylor) Patterfritz, husband Joel Williams, and her son Joel Williams Jr. Sonta Williams was born in Monroe August 10, 1954, and went on to marry the love of her life Joel on April 16, 1971. Sonta completed high school in Monroe and shortly after obtained her paramedic license. She worked as a paramedic for several years before going on to work as a caregiver at Elm House Assisted Living. She was a dedicated homemaker who loved to uplift those around her, enjoyed gardening, writing, and traveling. Sonta and Joel were inseparable their 47 years of marriage and enjoyed traveling to northern parts of Michigan and late nights of dinner and gambling. Sonta was a proud member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the VFW Post 1138 Ladies Auxiliary and was active with Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon. A celebration of Sonta’s life has been planned under the care of Martenson Family of Funeral Homes-Allore Chapel. Friends may come on Tuesday from 10am until the funeral service at 12:30pm.
