Shirley Lucille Wain

Shirley L. Wain, age 90 of Monroe, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 26, surrounded by her family at Wellspring in Monroe. Born on May 14, 1932 in Monroe, Shirley was the daughter of Alton and Treva (Rogers) Rehberg. A 1950 graduate of Monroe High School, she married the love of her life, Richard Wain, on December 8, 1951 in Maybee, Michigan. Sadly he preceded her in death July 2, 2011. Shirley was a former member of the Maybee Congregational Church. A homemaker, she enjoyed collecting dolls and spending time with her poodles and family. In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by a sister Charlotte Hill; a son Richard Wain and three grandchildren: Heather, Matthew and Stacy. She is survived by three sons Gary, Terry (Nancy) and Don (Lisa), granddaughters Erin Foster (Shane), Danielle Venzke (Erik), Andrea Morefield, Cassie White (Troy), grandson Terry R. Wain and great-grandchildren Savannah, Bobbi, Connor, Brody, Alton and Bryson. The Wain family would like to give a special “Thank You” to the staff of Wellspring Lutheran Services for the exceptional care Shirley received.
