Shirley Jean Cutting

Shirley Jean Cutting, of Allen Park, MI was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She left this world surrounded by those who love her on May 24, 2022 after bravely battling cancer for nearly 20 years. She was born to Richard and Cora Kurtz on May 13, 1954, graduated from Hazel Park High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from Oakland University. Shirley leaves behind her husband of 45 years, Gregory Cutting, and daughters Cheryl Cutting (Travis) Quick and Anne (Keith) Becker. She is the cherished grandmother of Kelsey, Karley, Wyatt and Emmett. Her faith was unwavering and she spent her whole adult life finding ways to serve God, first as a Sunday School teacher and then volunteering her other talents. An avid gardener, Shirley enjoyed her time as a volunteer gardener at Greenfield Village and the Garden Club at Angelica Lutheran Church. Another passion was cooking and she loved to collect recipes and cook for her family. She was a devoted adopted grandmother to her pup Rio. Her absence will be deeply felt by many loving friends and family. No visitation will be held at the funeral home, however the funeral service will take place on Saturday May 28, 2022 at at Angelica Lutheran Church located at 8400 Park Ave., Allen Park 48101.
