Sarah Louise Martin (Sally Lou), age 90, of Trenton, MI, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 13th, 2025. Born March 26th, 1934, in River Rouge, Michigan, Sarah was the daughter of Leo Martin McCarron and Loretta Julia McCarron (Sharrow). After graduating from Our Lady of Lourdes High School, she went on to work at Metropolitan Insurance and Michigan Bell. She married the love of her life, William Randolph Martin, Jr., of Stamford, Connecticut, in 1957. She was the proud mother of three children, Kathy, Kim, and Billy, and spent many years as a devoted homemaker. She went on to work in the Women’s Dress Department at J.C. Penney, in Southland Mall, until her retirement.
Sarah was a faithful member of St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Trenton. She loved life and everything it offered. She enjoyed traveling, reading, exercising, singing, interior decorating, fashion, playing charades, going out to eat, being a scout and day camp leader, and especially taking walks, having long talks, and visiting with family and friends. Faith guided and sustained her, and her love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. We take comfort in knowing that she now rests in the Lord’s peace, joyfully reunited with her beloved husband of 65 years, William. Their bond stands as a testament to devotion, resilience, and a love that endures beyond time.
Sarah leaves, to cherish her memory, her three children Katherine Huber (Don) of Grosse Ile, Kimberly Martin (Carl Borghi) of Northville, William Martin III (Cindy Worley) of Spring Lake, her four grandchildren, Andrew and Elizabeth Huber, Ashley and Carter Martin-Borghi, Cindy’s children, Brandy and Schuyler, as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends.
Sarah was preceded in death by her beloved husband William, her father Leo McCarron, her mother Loretta McCarron, sisters Loretta Ledford, Virginia Benson, Leona Richards, Betty McCarron, brother Jerome McCarron, as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends.
She will be dearly missed, but her legacy will live on in the stories we tell, the traditions we carry, and the love we continue to share in her honor.
If you prefer, in lieu of flowers, please consider a tribute donation in Sarah’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
