Samuel Benedict Sottile

Sottile, Samuel Sam Benedict; age 76; of Rochester. October 28, 2005. Loving husband of Nina. Dear father of Sam (Rachel), Dr. Francis (Dr. Sara Witherspoon), Larry, Ben and Joseph. Grandfather of Anthony, Daniel, Leah, Maria and Samuel. Brother of Joseph Sottile and Josephine Grodi. He was preceded in death by his parents Francesco and Grace and his brother Ben Sottile as well as his sisters Lena Buchanan and Mary May. He was foremost an educator, teaching at Eppler Junior High in Utica from 1960 - 1991. Sam was active in Rochester Arts & Apples as well as an exhibitor of metal sculptures. He was a parishoner at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rochester for 35 years. He designed and donated 3 large metal candlesticks and the Christmas star to St. Andrews. He was an Army Korean War Veteran stationed in Germany.
