Jessie Ruth Dodd (Ponder) was born on January 4, 1939 in Arab, Alabama and went Home to be with the Lord on December 6, 2022 at the age of 83; she was of Lincoln Park. Beloved wife of 67 years to Huey Dodd. Cherished mother of James (Doris) Dodd, Glenda Stafford and Eileen (Jeff) Wheeler. Proud grandmother “Momo” of Gayle Dodd, Joseph Dodd, Collin (Miranda) Flynn and Brett Wheeler. Great grandmother of Alanis Dodd and McKinley Flynn. Dearest sister of Wayne (the late Glenda Sue) Ponder. Also survived by many other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Carl E. and Gertie Viola (Laney) Ponder; her brothers: Silas Ponder, Hollis Ponder, Travis Ponder, Wallace Ponder, Wavis Ponder; and her sisters Alma Hornsby and Pauline Martin.

Ruth loved the Lord and her desire in life was for all of her grandchildren to be saved. She cherished her family and loved every minute she was able to be with them.

Visitation is on Friday, December 9, 2022 from 10:30 am until the time that the service will begin on Friday, December 9,, 2022 at 12:30 pm both at The Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 10915 Allen Rd. (Corner of Goddard), Allen Park, MI 48101. Entombment Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
