Ruth Conley

Ruth Elizabeth Conley (Stamm) April 1, 1944- October 24, 2018 Ruth grew up in Dearborn, Michigan with her parents Arthur & Ruth Stamm and 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She was a graduate of Fordson High School where she met her husband and father of her 3 daughters. Ruth made her living in retail. She worked many years at Seward Drug Store in Dearborn Heights and continued her career with Sam's Club in Dearborn & Southgate. She retired from Sam's Club when her health began to deteriorate and she found it harder to maneuver through her days. Ruth always wanted more for her daughters than she had for herself. She encouraged her girls to follow their dreams and taught them that anything was possible. She expressed her pride of her daughters through stories. When given the opportunity, she would talk of her daughter's achievements. In Ruth's eyes, her daughters were her world. All of her daughters are homemakers, career women, and mothers. Ruth was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She never realized how much love she had in her heart until the birth of her first grandchild. That love only grew as her family grew. Her pride was immeasurable for her grandchildren. In her younger years, Ruth loved to play softball. She played for St. James church. Later, her 2 oldest daughters also joined the team. Ruth raised her daughters to be active members of the church. She did whatever possible to ensure her daughters attended church each Sunday and completed their studies to achieve confirmation from St. James Church in Dearborn, Michigan . Ruth followed in her mother's footsteps and was a seamstress. She made matching outfits for her daughters in their younger years. She also made each of their dresses for their confirmation ceremonies. Additionally, Ruth made her youngest daughter's prom dress. Regrettably, she had to stop sewing when her arthritis limited her ability to sew. Ruth is survived by two of her daughters, Sherri & (Mark) Pelts and Laurie & (Steve) Willis. Siblings Mary & (Ed) Dinneweth, Jim & (Duana) Stamm, Pat & (Ron) Wells, grandchildren Brandon & (Jessica) Cupchak, Brittany & (Kevin) Johnson, Erik & (Rachel) Humm, Shannon Humm, and Nick & Danny Willis, great grandchildren Gabriella & Addisyn Johnson and Colton & Liam Cupchak, as well as several nieces and nephews. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents Arthur & Ruth Stamm, brother Kenneth & sister in-law Carole Stamm, her beautiful second daughter, Christine Humm and nieces Janice Miller (Wells) and Susan Stamm. Ruth will be laid to rest next to her parents at Grand Lawn Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan.
