Ruth A Ramirez was born on September 28, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan to Resujio (Simon) Ramirez-Hernandez and Rose Ramirez. She passed away on June 20th, 2023, at Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit. Ruth was the youngest of two children, with her late older brother Raymond, also known as Bobby. She was preceded in death by her husband Servando Vasquez, parents Rose Ramirez and Resujio Ramirez, daughters Patricia Ramirez and Dena Ramirez, son Gilbert Vasquez, and grandson Daniel Bohanan.
At the age of two, Ruth left the United States with her parents and returned to Mexico, where she was baptized in Parroquia De Atzeapotzalco Mexico in August 1936. Ruth and her parents lived in Guadalajara and Mexico City until she was fourteen. Her parents decided that she would receive a better education if she returned to the United States, so Ruth and her mother, Rose, worked on ranches in Texas to save enough money to go to Detroit. Eventually, Rose found a job in a factory and worked hard to support her family. Ruth attended night school for many years, learning English, French, Italian, and more. She eventually earned her GED and also worked in the factory with her mother. She also worked in home healthcare and helped deliver babies, which she considered her favorite thing in life, alongside praying for her family and friends.
Ruth is survived by her nine children: Mona Malone, Reina Gardner, Maria (Fidell Sr.) Cashero, Raymond Ramirez, Dena Ramirez, Patricia Ramirez, Gilbert R Vasquez, Leonor Vasquez (José), and Olga R Vasquez. She also leaves behind two godsons, Walter Williams (Michelle) and John Bailey, two goddaughters Holli (DeWayne) Banks and Pamela Fuller as well as her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Ruth also has a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Pastor Ryan Kolander for being by their mother's side, offering prayers and support during her transition into heaven. They extend their heartfelt thanks to him for his presence and assistance during this time.
