Roy V. Cook

Roy V. Cook, age 83 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 24th, 2024.

Roy was born in Monroe on July 20th, 1940 to the late Roy F. and Evelyn Cook. He was a 1959 graduate of Monroe Catholic Central and proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his military service, he was employed by and eventually retired from the Ford Motor Co.

On June 27th, 1964, Roy married the love of his life, the late Delores “Sue” Gose. Together they raised 7 children; Deborah, Rich, Joann, Scott, Jill (Dale) Lang, the late Teresa A. Cook, and Thomas J. Cook. He was a proud grandfather of many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dear brother of Joann F. Rorke, William Cook, and Steven Cook.

Roy loved golfing. Especially with his brother-in-law, Lynn Emerick, Tink, and Cracky. He also enjoyed his vacations to Las Vegas, Hawaii, Mexico, and grabbing lunch with his buddies. Roy was a proud and dedicated member of the Monroe VFW Post #1138 and the honor guard team.

Visitation will take place on Thursday May 2nd, 2024 from 2:00pm – 8:00pm, at the Allore Chapel- Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 203 E. Elm, Monroe, MI 48162. Family will receive friends on Friday May 3rd, 2024 from 11:00am until time of Mass 12:00pm, at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 502 W. Front St., Monroe, MI 48161. Interment with military honors to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
