Roy G. Mullins

Roy G. Mullins, age 84, formerly from Virgie, Kentucky and lately of Downriver, Michigan. In Roy's youth he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Throughout his entire life he enjoyed games, especially games of strategy, cards, and chess. He also enjoyed throwing horseshoes, which he was practically unbeatable at. Roy truly loved his family and attending family reunions. At weddings, it was a given that Roy would be out on the dancefloor with his late sister Phyllis. He was an avid traveler, but only by car and not by plane. He also spent many evening hours on his porch swing, working crossword puzzles and feeding the squirrels and birds. He is survived by his beloved children, Wayne Mullins, Rhonda Mullins, and Derrick (Sarah) Mullins. Cherished by his grandchildren Dawn Douglas, Breezy Wallace, Jeremy (Judy) Scaggs, Jana Mullins, Olivia Mullins and Eva Mullins. Also survived by eleven great-grandchildren and three siblings: Lois Tackett, Yvonne Hampton, and Shelby Baker. He is preceded in death by his parents John S. and Sylvania Mullins, as well as his siblings Frank Mullins, Malloy Mullins, Carl Mullins, Phyllis Tackett, and Mildred Mullins. Roy will be missed by his family and all that know him. In honor of Roy, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
