Roy E. "Robby" Robinson

Roy E. "Robby" Robinson. Age 70 of Newport, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Promedica Hospital in Monroe. Roy was born February 1, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan to Roy E. and Ann E. (Kelly) Robinson, Sr. He married Nancy Hoffman August 27, 1966 in Southgate, Michigan. Roy served in the United States Navy from 1966-1970. He worked as a millwright for Great Lakes Steel for 31 years, retiring in 1999. Roy enjoyed hunting, target shooting, woodworking and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Nancy Robinson of Newport; son Allen (Serena) Robinson of Newport; daughter Laurie (John) Barker of Monroe; 5 grandchildren William, Christa, Gabe, Hayden and Aubrianna; and a sister Linda (Kenneth) Wyman of Muskegon, Michigan. Roy is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Ann Robinson, Sr. Friends may call Monday from 3-8pm at The Allore Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 203 E. Elm Ave., Monroe. Funeral Service will take place Tuesday at 12 noon at the funeral home. Rev. Rick Massingill from North Monroe St. Church of God will officiate. VFW Post #1138 will conduct military honors at the cemetery. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project
