Roy E. Landberg

Roy E. Landberg, age 98, of Riverview, Michigan (formerly of Trenton), passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at home, surrounded by family. He was born September 11, 1923 in Boston, MA, the son of John and Alma Landberg. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Emma, and his sister, Evelyn. He is survived by his sons, Roy E. Landberg Jr. (and his wife Claudia) and Stephen J. Landberg (and his late wife Deborah), three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Roy was a member of “The Greatest Generation”, raised during the Great Depression, and served in France and Belgium during World War II as a paratrooper in the 13th and 82nd Airborne Divisions. After the war, Roy attended Northeastern University in Boston under the GI bill and earned degrees in Civil/Structural and Mechanical Engineering. While employed at a nuclear project in Portsmouth, Ohio, he met and married his wife Emma in 1954. Roy practiced as a power generation engineer for much of his career until his retirement in 1996. Roy was a volunteer in his community, serving for five years as a Boy Scout leader, as a founding member and officer of the New Horizon Senior Club in Trenton, as a first aid instructor for the American Red Cross, and as an officer at the Trenton chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a good man of hard work, integrity, and honesty, and was a quiet role model to his family. He will be deeply missed.
