Roselee Lillian Maegerlein

Roselee “Rose” Maegerlein (nee Sharrette), went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 14 at age eighty-five. Rose was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 29, 1936, to Lillian Sharrette (Gougeon) and George Sharrette. She graduated from Denby High School and attended the University of Detroit. She married Robert C. Maegerlein (Bob) whom she met at the University of Detroit. She was a loving mother to Robert (Bobby) Maegerlein, Jill Maxwell, Jeff Maegerlein, and Michael Ciesielski (Suzanne), and grandmother to Jennifer Grech (Gian), Ben and Brady Ciesielski, and Kristen and Kelly Maegerlein. Rose was preceded in death by partner Florian Ciesielski, daughter Marian and son Bobby. Rose loved visits with her children, grandchildren, daughter-in-law and Jill’s puppy, Star. Rose enjoyed travelling and visited many states with family and friends. She was excited to meet extended family when she traveled to Bay City, Michigan in August 2000 for the Gougeon Family Reunion where Rose was among three hundred descendants representing seven generations of Pierre and Natalie Gougeon of St. Benoit, Quebec Canada. Rose lived out her days with courage and strength that came from the Lord and quiet faith that brought her through the toughest struggles of her life, particularly while living in a nursing home during the pandemic. Visits with family through a closed window during the pandemic were difficult but she enjoyed talking to her caregivers about family pictures displayed on the wall in her room.
