Ronald Vanwassehnova

Ronald VanWassehnova, age 89 of South Rockwood, passed away peacefully at home of natural causes Sunday January 27, 2019. Born April 21, 1929 to the late Frederick J. and Lucile C. (Bodenmiller) VanWassehnova. Loving husband of Janice. Dear father of Rose Marie (Steve) Bojarski and step daughters Barb Thompson, Sue Biedlingmaier, and Cathy (Bob) Thompson. Grandchildren Angela (Mitch) Langton, Rebecca (Charles) Strimpel, Jennifer MacDonald, Tammy (Marcus) Wilcox, and Patricia Allen. Step grandchildren Catherine (Dwayne) Jackson, Derek Jones, Christian Zalewski, Kellie Toeppe, Jesse (Misty) Biedlingmaier, Ryan and Kevin Robinson, and Samantha (Matt) Wylie. He also leaves behind 29 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and sisters Marion Revard, Joyce Langton, and sister in law Georgia VanWassehnova. Ronald was preceded in death by his daughter Sandra Weisbecker (2011), siblings Leonard and Robert (Chum) VanWassehnova, Shirley McLaughlin, and twin granddaughters Tina and Tracy Bojarski. Ronald retired after 40 years of employment with the Ford Motor Co. His true passions in life were farming and hunting. He will always be remembered for his gentleness and kind heart, which made him likable to all. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 2-8pm at the Ford Chapel- Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 23620 N. Huron River, Rockwood. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10am until time of Mass 10:30am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 8033 N. Dixie Hwy., Newport. Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery.
