July 12, 1940 — April 20, 2024

Ronald Douglas Kanode

Born July 12, 1940 in Detroit, Ron was the son of Edward and Anna (McLellan) Kanode. A high school graduate, he faithfully served our country in the United States Navy where he was trained as an Aircraft Mechanic. Ron married the love of his life, Elaine Beresh, on August 12, 1961. He carried his training from the Navy into a career and worked for several airlines, ultimately retiring from Northwest Airlines.

Ron leaves to cherish his memory, Elaine, his wife of the past 62 years; his children: Donna Cubbage, Diane (Joseph) Pawelec, Robert Kanode, Denise (Jeffrey) Kopp and Debra Kanode; as well as 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Sadly he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Paul Kanode.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Ron may be made to the Penrickton Center for Blind Children or a Veterans Charity of Donor’s Choice.
