Ronald A. Plummer, Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-great grandfather, age 87, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 11, 2023. His last hours were spent surrounded by his family. He is survived by his children, Ann Marie (Maurice) Cartier, Carol (Donald) Waskiewicz, Ronald (Trish) Plummer, Gary (Maureen) Plummer, Chris (Kurt Lang) Reed, Gerald (Michele) Plummer and Joyce (Brad) Rusnell. He is also survived by his brother Kenneth Plummer. Ronald leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by his wife Mary Elizabeth (Chinavare) Plummer, his parents, Kenneth and Seraphine Plummer, sister Patricia Plummer, and grandson Hunter.
Ronald was a wonderful and loving person who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He had a long career as an insurance salesman for Met Life. Ron and Mary raised their family in Taylor, Mi and were active in the church parishes they belonged to. Ron and Mary retired young and relocated to their home in Northern Michigan at their beloved Higgins Lake. There, they enjoyed the company of lifelong friends and family. Ronald was proud to be active in the church community, from being a part of the St. Paschal’s Dad’s Club, traveling with the camping club and a leader of Boy Scouts with his sons’ troops.
Ronald was extremely proud of being a Veteran where he served in the United States Army. Ronald would love to sit and tell his stories of his time served overseas.
Visitation will take place at The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes – Allen Park Chapel on Thursday November 16, 2023 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A rosary will begin at 6 pm, followed by the sharing of Ron’s Eulogy. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of The Angels Catholic Church, Taylor on Friday November 17, 2023, Ronald will lie in state at 9:30am until mass at 10am. A military honor guard service will take place following mass.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Grayling Nursing and Rehab Community or to Our Lady of The Angels Catholic Church.
