Roger Emil Laplante

Roger E. LaPlante, age 81 of Carleton, passed away on January 27, 2023.  His final

days were spent surrounded by the family he loved so much. Roger was born on June 12, 1941 to the late Emil and Seraphine LaPlante. Beloved husband of Fran for 58 years. Loving father of Michael (Paula) LaPlante, Susan (Scott) Larson and Wendy (Dave) LaPlante. Dearest grandfather of Paige Larson, Cole LaPlante, and Logan LaPlante. Cherished brother to Alice Lidenmuth, Emil LaPlante, Barb Folco, Elizabeth (Gary) Kloosterman, and the late Mary Carrier. Roger is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandpa and friend. Roger was an avid skeet/trap shooter, and would often load his own shotshells. He enjoyed deer and duck hunting, and seldom missed the opening season of deer hunting

in the fall. Roger and Fran loved to travel, in their 58 years of marriage they traveled to 48 states and out of the country to Africa, Canada, Mexico and Columbia. He had a giving heart, and would always be there if you needed his help. Fran and Roger opened their home to four foreign exchange students. To say Roger was a dog lover is an understatement. He loved and trained numerous dogs throughout his life. His later life and retirement years was enriched with learning how to crochet blankets and make scarves for the homeless, being an active member of the St. Stephen Catholic Church community. Above all else, he was a giving and unforgettable man, who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday, January 31 at St. Stephen Catholic

Church. 18858 Huron River Dr. New Boston, MI. 48164. Roger will be instate at 10

AM, and the service will begin at 11 AM.
