Roger D. Smith

Roger D Smith, age 82 of Grosse Ile, MI passed away January 13, 2025. Loving husband of Jan Smith and father of Dr. Beth Ann Smith and Jeffery Smith. Dearest brother of Gregory (Shelley) Smith and leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Donald L Smith and Dolly Ann Smith. Roger was a member of ATO fraternity at Adrian College and graduated with a business major. He worked for the family business Wolverine Aluminum Inc. for many years before venturing out with his own business RSI Inc. After several years, he transitioned into Sales Manager for Lear Corporation, retiring

in 2006. Family was very important to Roger, including all of the traditions. He never outgrew his favorite holiday

Christmas. Roger was known for his love of sports enjoying golf, skiing, boating, tennis and fishing. His friends will

attest there was always a wager or two involved. He will be well remembered for his love of the University of Michigan football team. Together, Roger and Jan were members of Grosse Ile Country Club for over 55 years. He was very social and always gave a special toast for any occasion.
