Rodney K. Poore

Rodney K. Poore, age 59 of Flat Rock, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Beaumont Royal Oak Hospital. Born September 21, 1958 in Cherry Point, North Carolina, Rodney was the son of Roy and Marjorie (Kinsey) Poore. He faithfully served our country for over 20 years in the United States Navy. After retirement from the Navy he then worked Skilled Trades for Ford Motor Company, retiring in 2013. Rodney married the love of his life, Brenda Smith, on December 18, 1993. An avid outdoorsman and hunter, he also was a skilled marksman. Rodney combined his love for archery and skill as a woodworker to make several of his own bows. He also posessed a great love for animals and had many pets; a cat, turtles and lizards. Rodney leaves to cherish his memory, Brenda, his wife of the past 24 years; children: Katrina Walker of Taylor and Rene' (Charles Solomon) Walker of Newport; grandchildren: Bryce Walker, Thomas Solomon, Sabryna Bourlier and Mark Bourlier; as well as his siblings: Todd (Cheryl) Poore of Jackson, Tamara Poore and Timothy Poore of Ecorse. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother Randy Poore. A celebration of Rodney's life will be held at the Ford Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 23620 N. Huron River Dr., Rockwood. Friends may call Sunday from 4pm until 9pm. Funeral services will be 12noon Monday. Rev.
