Robert Leroy Durocher, age 94 of Monroe, passed away July 11, 2023.

Born October 8, 1928 in Monroe, Robert was the son of Leroy and Wilma (Kleinsmith) Durocher. A 1946 graduate of Monroe High School, he also attended 2 years of college at Michigan State University. Robert then faithfully served our country in the United States Air Force from 1948-1952. He married the love of his life, Betty Jane Adair, on January 23, 1960. Sadly she preceded him in death April 15, 2019. Robert was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a member of the Men’s Choir as well as serving on the Monroe County Senior Legal Services Board of Directors from 1998-2002. Robert enjoyed reading, woodworking, playing the piano and dancing, but his most treasured times were those spent with his family.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory his children: Diane (Jeffrey) Harding, Karen Saunders and Pam (David) Geboski; 6 grandchildren: Adam (Martha) Harding, Tyler (Claire Burger) Harding, Jenna (Blake) Romanowski, Steven Robert Saunders, Claire Geboski and Xavier Geboski; as well as 6 great grandchildren: Virginia Jane Harding, Amelia Grace Harding, Lincoln Sevens, Evan Romanowski, Rowan Romanowski and Maven Romanowski. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Eilene Durocher and Katherine Broughton.

Memorial contributions in honor of Robert may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project. As Robert always said “Hit ‘em High, Hit ‘em Low. Yeah Team Let’s Go.”
