Robert L. Carter

Robert L. Carter, of Trenton, passed away Sunday July 2, 2023. Beloved husband of Frances Carter for 72 beautiful years. Dear dad of the late Jeffrey A. (Kathy) Carter, Leslie S. Browning, Robert T. (Mary E.) Carter. Loving grandfather of Ryan (Melanie) Carter, David (Kayla) Carter, Jessica Hawkinson, Jeremy (Kyleigh) Browning, Nicole (Scott) Dixson, and Melissa Carter. Proud great grandfather of Jeffrey, Jaxson, Jacob, Everett “Rhett,” James “Carter,” and Beckett “Beck.”

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Georganna Carter, his siblings, James Carter, and Katherine Marotta, and his son, Jeffery. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.

Robert was an avid golfer and was a member of numerous different leagues. He coached little league. He loved building magnificent wood working projects and tending to his garden. He proudly served in the United States Army. Mostly, he was a devoted husband and family man. He was gifted with the talent of being able to talk to anyone and everyone.

Visitation will be held at The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes – Trenton Chapel on Friday July 7, 2023 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Eulogy sharing will begin at 7:00 pm.  Visitation will continue Saturday July 8, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Trenton from 9:30 until mass begins at 10:00 am. Military honors and entombment will take place immediately after at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Brownstown, Michigan.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Robert to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association of the American Legion.
