Click on the tribute wall above to view Robert's video tribute. Robert Kaluzny, age 89 of Riverview, formerly of Redford and Detroit, passed away April 29th, 2021. Loving husband of Cecilia for 69 years. Dear father of Robert Jr. (Cheryl), Sharon Niemi, Ken (Joyce), and the late Karen. Proud grandfather of Matt (Lisa), Lisa (Matt) Swanson, and Laura (David) Mitchell. Great grandfather of Dylan, Landon, Owen, and Ella. Grandfather to grand dogs of Max and the late Rocky. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and one brother. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired as a carpet layer from Hudson's. He loved to work in his workshop, and in the garden and on the lawn. He loved to travel and spend precious time with all of his family. Visitation is on Monday, May 3, 2021 from 3 pm to 9 pm at the Trenton Chapel of the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd., Trenton. There will be a Rosary at the funeral home and Military Honors at the funeral home on Monday at 6:30 pm. The mass is on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 12 pm at St. Cyprian Catholic Church; Fr. Marc Gawrowski will officiate. Entombment will take place Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights, MI. Memorial donations to honor Robert may be made to the Dementia Foundation and/or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. To those attending visitation and/or services at the funeral home for a loved one, in keeping with CDC and State of Michigan DHHS guidelines, masks and social distancing along with limitations on number of person(s) in the chapel must be followed and will be enforced.
