Hartman, Robert John. Age 90. January 23, 2017 of Riverview. Bob was born July 20, 1926 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late George and Mary (Ditlinger) Hartman. He is survived by his beloved wife, Bibiana (Bebe) Sharkey Hartman and the late Betty (Brinker) Hartman. Dear father of Carolyn (Carl) LaPointe, Mark (Dawn) Hartman, Ann Hartman, Jim (Kendra) Hartman and Anita (Joseph) Weglarz. He leaves eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren and also his beloved wife Bebe's son, Leo (Leslie) Sharkey of Minneapolis, daughter, Janet Sharkey Carpenter of Indianapolis, and grandchildren Victoria, Veronica, and Paul Sharkey Upon Bob's graduation from Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He received his Baccalaureate degree from DePaul University and his Masters degree in Chemistry from Wayne State University. He was employed for 33 years as a Research Chemist at Wyandotte Chemical Company which later became BASF Corp. Bob was very active in his community serving on the Southgate Water Board, as a member of the St.Pius Ushers Club for forty years, past president for four terms and active member for 18 years of the Southgate Kiwanis, and a tutor in the Literacy program at Asher school for 17 years. In 2001 he was honored by the city of Southgate as the Senior Citizen of The Year. He was a runner, enjoyed tennis and bowling with his friends, and was an avid golfer and Bridge player. He was preceded in death by sisters Lucille Ryan, Rose Golecke, and Agnes Woenker. He is survived by his brother, George, his sister Teresa Overmeyer, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation Friday, January 27, 2017 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at The Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd, Trenton. Bob will lie in state Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 9:30 am at St Timothy Catholic Church, 2901 Manning, Trenton until Mass at 10:00 am. Interment Our Lady of Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capuchins, 1820 Mt. Elliott, Detroit, Ml 48207 or Hospice of Michigan, 400 Mack Avenue, Detroit, MI 48201 To share a memory visit www.martenson.com.
