Robert H. Sharkey

Robert H. Sharkey, age 80, of Grosse Ile Twp, Michigan passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024 in his home while surrounded by his loving family. Cherished husband of 59 years to Terry Sharkey. Dearest father of Roxanne (Rick) Gayheart, Robert Sharkey Jr. (Dora Rodriguez), and Rene (Ray) Matchko. Dear grandfather of Steven (Justice) Gayheart, Nicole (Jon Barley) Gayheart, Robert (Kel) Sharkey, Samantha (Josh McLaughlin) Sharkey, Michael (Samantha Hammond) Matchko, Tyler Matchko, and Noah Matchko (Alexis). Adoring great-grandfather of Ozzy, Luna, Roman, Amara, Michaela, Miles, Layla, and Ashton (on-the-way). Caring brother of Marlene Nugent. Devoted dog-dad of Sparky. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Blanche Sharkey and his siblings; Alberta Jones, Louis Sharkey, Bill Sharkey, Wally Sharkey, Richard Sharkey, Albert Sharkey, Jr. and Joyce Sharkey. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A visitation for Robert will take place on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes located at 10915 Allen Road, 48101. The funeral service will be held the following day, Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Immediately following the funeral, we will have a procession to Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery for military honors performed by the Downriver Veterans Honor Guard, followed by interment.
