Robert C. Casement

Robert Charles Casement was born in Detroit in 1963. He left this world on November 30, 2021 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. He was 58 years old. Bob was raised in the Detroit area. Known as "Bobby" to friends and family, he grew up attending Inter-City Baptist Church in Allen Park, where he also attended elementary through high school. Bob received his bachelor's degree from Clarks Summit University in Pennsylvania in 1986. Bob and Kim (Burch) were married in 1986. They served in various ministry roles throughout their 35 years of marriage. At different times Bob served as a youth pastor, senior pastor, and lay Bible teacher. He was known for his creative preaching style that blended humorous real-life anecdotes with an intense respect for scripture and the message of God. Bob was entrepreneurial, very hard working, and always on the lookout for the next business opportunity. He started and ran several successful businesses including a commercial cleaning and janitorial business, landscaping company, and an independent consulting business. In the 1990’s he began a career in corporate training and project management where he was highly sought after for his strategic and methodical approach to large corporate initiatives. He became a passionate advocate for cyber security in corporations and government, often traveling and speaking on the topic at conferences around the country. Bob always enjoyed his interactions with his colleagues throughout his career, many of whom became close friends. He sought out personal mentoring relationships everywhere he worked, and worked tirelessly to provide for his family, even up until the day he entered the hospital for the last time. Bob was a loving and dedicated father to 6 children. He set an example of living in a way that honored God, respected others, and persevered through adversity. Bob loved taking his family on vacations around the country to places that displayed the majesty of God’s creation. He cared deeply about his children’s education and sought to provide the best resources possible for their growth and education. As they grew, he encouraged each of their interests and supported them in their own careers. Bob also enjoyed photography throughout his life and was adamant about having the right tools to get the job done. One of his last home projects was constructing a deck in the backyard, and his family will miss evenings together on that deck having conversations that were often humorous, and always impactful. His years of struggling with his own health gave him deep empathy for those who hurt. He was passionate about standing up to wrong and injustice and never hesitated to give his own resources to help others. He became a father figure to many outside of his own family, and became like family to many more. Robert C. Casement was preceded in death by his father, Robert S. Casement and his grandparents. He is survived by his mother, Florence Casement, and sister, Mary (David) Anderson. Bob is also survived by his wife, Kimberly Casement, and their 6 children: Nathaniel (Maria) Casement, David (Kalee) Casement, Emily Casement, Sarah Casement, Evan Casement, and Hope Casement. Bob enjoyed being Grandpa to 3 little girls, Morgan, Maxine and Charlotte. Bob Casement was passionate about standing up for the rights of those who were unjustly mistreated, and those who could not help themselves. For this reason, you may consider donating in his name to either of the following organizations: "All Worthy of Love (AWOL), which is a human trafficking organization, or Downriver Pregnancy Resource Center (DPRC), which is a ministry of Evangel Baptist Church in Taylor, MI, serving the women of the Downriver area who need support with unplanned pregnancies. We will update this page with how to donate to these two organizations shortly.
