Robert Bruce Paterson

Robert Bruce Paterson, age 99 of Monroe, passed away March 11, 2022. Born July 8, 1922 in Highland Park, Robert was the son of James and Annabelle (Rittenhouse) Paterson. A graduate of Highland Park High School, he continued his education at the University of Toledo, earning his Bachelor of Business Degree. Robert faithfully served our country in the United States Army Air Corps. He married the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth Starrett, on November 28, 1942. Sadly she preceded him in death November 26, 2016. Robert worked for Woodall Industries and then for Ford Motor Company for over 20 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and he enjoyed camping and sailing, but his most treasured times were those spent with his wife Robert leaves to cherish his memory his children: Thomas (Jacqueline) Paterson, James Paterson and Nancy Rumsey; as well as 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter Susan Paterson.
