Robert 'Bob' Trouten

Born in Erie, Bob was the son of William and Jessie Ruth (Garnett) Trouten. He faithfully served his country with the United States Army from December 11, 1951 until December 11, 1954. Bob received the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, the Combat Infantry Badge, United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries received in Battle. He married the love of his life, Joann Morris, on December 31, 1953, here in Monroe. Bob worked for 35 ½ years with the City of Monroe as a Job Leader, retiring in 1991. He was a life member of the VFW Post 1138 Monroe, the American Legion Post 514, Fraternal Order of Eagles #2254 and past member of the Moose Lodge #884. Bob leaves to cherish his memory, Joann, his wife of the past 61 years; children: Janet (Ronald) Schultz of Columbia, Tennessee and Sheri (David) Bennett of Petersburg; 5 grandchildren: Robert Schultz, Amber Schultz, Aric Bennett, Timothy Schultz and Ryan Bennett; 11 great grandchildren: Sam Ward, Christie Ward, Caspian Schultz, Ashley Bilodeau, Audrey Bennett, Evan Bennett, Brayden Bennett, Thames Schultz, Allory Bennett, Blake Bennett and Ella Bennett; as well as two brothers: William (Beulah) Trouten of Rossford, Ohio, Ronald (Joyce) Trouten of Midland and a sister Ruth Ann (Michael) Williams of Romulus. Sadly he was preceded in death by a daughter Vicki Trouten; his parents and a brother Gary Trouten. Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post 1138.
