Robert "Bob" Jones

Born in North Baltimore, Ohio, Bob was the son of Daniel & Leonora (Bayse) Jones. A 1945 graduate of Monroe High School, he faithfully served his country with the United States Navy from May 11, 1945 until August 23, 1946. He then married the love of his life, Ann M. Richardson on October 14, 1950. Sadly she preceded him in death August 5, 2010. Bob started his career as Plant Manager for his family business, Monroe Welding Company. He then went on to work for Premier Industries and finally 23 years with Ford Motor Company at the Woodhaven Stamping Plant, until his retirement in 1989. Bob was a former member of Trinity Episcopal Church. He belonged to the Monroe Rod & Gun Club, Roadrunners Camping Club and was a Volunteer Fireman for Monroe Township Fire Department. He enjoyed vacationing in Florida and Arizona and loved to fish. Bob leaves to cherish his memory his children: Brian Jones of Sevierville, Tennessee and Beth (Michael) Owens of Monroe; grandsons: Joshua "Matt" Owens, Jeremy Owens; step grandson: Michael Owens Jr., and three step great grandchildren: Elijah Owens, Olivia Owens and Michael Owens III. As well as a brother David (Judy Atwood) Jones of LaSalle. In addition to his parents and spouse, Bob was preceded in death by a brother Jack Jones and a sister-in-law Betty Jones. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercy-Memorial Hospice.
