Click on tribute wall above to view Bert's memorial video. Robert “Bert” Staelgraeve, age 50 of Maybee, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. Born September 18, 1971 in Monroe, Bert was the son of Robert and Joy (Windels) Staelgraeve. A 1989 graduate of Milan High School, he has worked as a Dispatcher/Driver for LaRocca Trucking for the past 13 years. Bert was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maybee and was a Fourth Degree member of the Knight of Columbus Council 1266 in Monroe. He enjoyed riding his Harley, hunting, fishing and going up north, but his most treasured times were those spent with his family, friends and his knucklehead dog Razor. Bert was known for his great sense of humor and to be very quick witted. He was also known for his generosity, being the first to help anyone in need, and even in the tragedy of his passing helped others as an Organ Donor. Bert leaves to cherish his memory his father Robert; siblings: Mary (Jeff) Bonk, Anita (Tim) Heath, Mike (Kim) Staelgraeve and his twin sister Robyn (Brian) Pitock; nieces and nephews: Ben Bonk, Nick Bonk, Tony Bonk, Joe Heath, Josh Heath, Jena Hall, Katie Mullins, Jenny Staelgraeve, Kyle Staelgraeve, Aaron Pitock, Alex Pitock and Lauren Pitock; as well as many great nieces and great nephews. Sadly he was preceded in death by his mother. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Bert may be made to the the Carleton VFW Post 4093 or Divine Grace Parish-St. Joseph Chapel.
