Born September 14, 1934 in Detroit, Richard was the son of George and Gladys (Rich) Booth. A graduate of Airport High School, Richard earned his Bachelor Degree from the University of Toledo and his Masters of Education from Eastern Michigan University. He married the love of his life, Patricia Booth, on July 2, 1955. Sadly she preceded him in death January 10. 2022. Richard was a dedicated Educator Working for Airport Community Schools for most of his career, serving as Principal at Niedermier Elementary School, Ritter Elementary School and Sterling Elementary School; as well as the Business Manager for Airport Schools. Richard and his father also owned and operated Booth’s Department Store in Carleton. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Hale; the Elks Lodge in Flat Rock; member of the Carleton Athletic Club; was an Ash Township Trustee and member of the Community Church of Christ in Riverview and Tawas.
Richard leaves to cherish his memory his children: Tim (Donna) Booth, Jim (Bev) Booth, Cheri Ritter and Brad (Maryann Stevens) Booth; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a niece Darla Wooten and nephews: Chuck Wooten, Lonnie McComas and Dennis McComas. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 4 siblings: Thais Haviland, Donna Gilbert, Nelda Wells and George Booth.
